The Urgent Need for the Minab Children Memorial
Erasure is a choice, but so is remembrance. Today, as a United States-based youth coalition, we are officially launching the Minab children memorial. On an ordinary morning, 168 elementary school girls in Minab were killed, their futures violently interrupted in a fraction of a second. We recognize that the geography of a tragedy does not dictate the limits of our empathy. This initiative is a global campaign designed to ensure their stories are permanently documented and never subjected to the cruelty of global amnesia.
Documenting the Loss of 168 Futures
We are not here to offer empty sympathies or fleeting moments of silence. Our mission in building this digital archive is to document, to testify, and to secure their names within the global conscience. The violation of an educational sanctuary is an infringement on the most fundamental human right: the right to a safe childhood. By establishing the Minab children memorial, we are creating a permanent historical record that demands the world pays attention to the cost of apathy.
Forgetting them is a betrayal we will not commit. As long as we breathe, we will carry their names and force the world to look upon the true cost of its silence.
